This weather is distracting, to say the least
Wow. I'm sitting at my computer in front of a window that gives me a wonderful view of God's creation. After tons and tons of rain, today has been bright and sunny. At around 2:50, the blue sky was suddenly eclipsed by an enormous black cloud that turned my green world gray.
Within ten minutes, the downpour began - not easing into it with sprinkles, mind you, but a gush of water as though a heavenly bucket had overturned. Then hail - glorious round white globules of ice pelting the grass and bouncing up. I was just wondering if Maddy's rehearsal would be cancelled again as it was Tuesday night (we live in a semi-rural area where there are oodles of dirt roads which don't fare so well when the weather has its way with them).
And then as suddenly as it had appeared, the cloud - which had taken up the sky from one horizon to another - passed right on over and the sky was blue again with some fluffy white cumulus clouds - looking all innocence - on the horizon.
This all took place in less than 25 minutes. What a spectacular show!! I LOVE the weather - any kind - but especially here where things happen so suddenly and crazily.
How in the world can I get any writing done with this going on????
I guess I should turn my desk to the wall.

My husband and I were driving through it this afternoon out your way - and from the sound of the thunder just now, it's coming through again. :- )

It was interesting for us because we were doing our kids devotions about Noah and the Ark right about the time this wole rain thing started. They weren't old enough to put the two together, but you can bet their mother and father thought it was quite the coincidence.
