Apron Power! #15

Hi Barbara, it's Lauren from mychoice-hislife.First, I'd like to say how THRILLED I am that you are doing this contest. I heard of the "apron ministry" through my husband's cousin, but didn't think much of it at that time. After reading your posts, and the original article itself, I am now a believer!
I remember loving my grandmother's aprons as a little girl, but somehow the art of the apron was lost as I grew up. I was so excited about this whole apron thing I bought one for my niece for Christmas. She loved it. She wore it all day yesterday doing arts and crafts and baking. Everyone commented on how pretty she looked in it, and indeed she did. She told me she felt like a "big girl".
Now for my apron story:
I struggle with housework. I mean, I *really* struggle. I have gotten much better over the past two years of marriage, but it is an everyday battle for me.
That said, I have been making a super concerted effort the past few months to do better. After reading the "apron ministry" story I realized what a great idea it was to have a uniform for my mommy job. I asked for an apron for Christmas, and my wonderful husband was happy to oblige.
This picture was taken in front of our tree on Christmas morning as I cleaned up all the discarded paper. I did so with joy for the Lord, and felt pretty happy overall.
I'm so happy to report that my home has greatly improved with this small piece of fabric. I am able to do so much more with my new found good-spirit.
I know that all of this is rather silly, and that I should be able to motivate myself without a "crutch" but the apron ideology really has helped me to be more a model of a biblical woman.
Thank you for all you are doing to spread this "good news".
God Bless,
Lauren
