Sigh. Maddy always says she was born too late - that this was her era. And though the elites scoff at the "Leave It to Beaver" days, I really think that in many ways life was just a whole lot nicer.

I just watched the video and I can completely relate to Maddy's thoughts. I have always thought that I was born in the wrong era (though I do understand God placed me on this earth in 1977 for a purpose) and would have enjoyed living in the fifties...or even in the "little house on the prairie" days. My Mom always commented that I am her "old-fashioned girl."
Thank you for posting this video. I enjoyed it very much. Seeing this new wife spend the morning trying to find a way to bless her husband was a reminder and an encouragement to me.
By the way, I have learned so much by watching some of my favorite cooking shows on the Food Network channel. These cooks have shown me a ton of cooking tips and given me an education on it, in a way.

Isn't that a cool video? When I saw it I went searching for more. Check out Pattern for Smartness:

This is DELIGHTFUL! Thanks so much for linking to it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love cooking and grew up helping my mom in the kitchen, but I still learned some things from this! (I have never in my cooking career attempted scalloped cauliflower, I must admit...does that mean I'm a domestic failure? : )

I made the cauliflower bake they feature in the filmstrip! It was pretty good!

I can totally relate to poor Margie. The first few months of my marriage I served pasta every night. Thank heaven for helpful mother in laws!
