An amazing love story

Herman Rosenblat survived the Holocaust thanks in part to a young girl who tossed him apples and bread from outside the concentration camp. Twelve years later, destiny brought them together again. . .

My paternal grandmother was from Poland and was Jewish. She was taken from Poland to Germany to a work camp and survived by making friends with a German Shepherd. She would feed him part of her food and he did his best to keep the soldiers away from her. She met my Grandfather, who was in the Army, and the rest is history. It always gives me chills to hear the stories of survivors and the ones who helped them.
