Today's mini update

I am working on deadline for Focus on the Family and so must resist the temptation to write about the many things going through my head right now - but still.

I have posted a few things recently at The Miz Report. And because of readers' interest in our views on the coming elections, and because Spunky has done her homework, I've asked her to weigh in on the subject soon as a guest blogger there. She also is working on deadline for an article for The Old Schoolhouse - but she says she will get to it soon. So keep checking!

For today, I will post a couple things I'd love to hear your thoughts on. If you've emailed me recently, please know that I answer every email - eventually. And just give me a little grace as I keep following Elizabeth Elliot's advice for when we feel swamped: Do the next thing.

My life goes on like any other mom's. Was all set to get the laundry started and work on the big article when I got a call from Daniel's school and had to go pick him up because he was sick. Poor guy threw up in class. Because he is adopted, his genes are different than my birth kids. While we very very rarely throw up around here - we tend more toward sore throats - Daniel has a very sensitive stomach. So he is home with me now and I am getting a late start.

Saturday I will be speaking at the Maryland Unites for Life conference: Mother of 12 (and Former Radical Leftist) Lives to Tell About It! I'm excited about this opportunity. But must get through this week and meet my deadline first.

Pray for me today and tomorrow as I Do. The. Next. Thing. - which right now means to post a couple ideas for your input and then on to meet my deadline.

Love,

Barbara,

We have one with a sensitive stomach, too. Something we heard about, and seems to work well for her, is to put a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in her yogurt smoothie in the morning. (We make our smoothies and don't buy them from the store.) Some days, if she hasn't had it in the AM and gets sick, we make her a smoothie then. It seems to do the trick! Maybe that will help!

Oh Barbara, I understand about doing the next thing. I am the busy homeschooling mother of seven. My oldest is a voice major at college. I accompany him and have found myself in the exciting position of accompanying him as well as 4 other singers in our regional NATS (NAtional Association of Teacher's of Singing) Competition this Saturday. so I have been doing laundry, running to the piano to practice, teaching my children, running to the piano to practice, preparing meals, running to the piano to practice, etc.

Our hot water heater broke yesterday and the repair man is here - guess what he is going to hear? Yep! Me running to the piano to practice!

Hang in there - whatsoever you do, do it heartily unto the Lord!

Love,
Kathy
