A Tribute to Dr. Sears and Martha #3
Thank you, Barbara, for this opportunity to express something to the Sears family ...I met them once at a LLLI conference and remember being just as impressed with their personal warmth as with their courageous, inspiring, and compassionate writing.
Had I not picked up a copy of The Discipline Book during my first pregnancy (after first being exposed to a very different and in my view, misguided, baby-parenting philosophy), I would have headed down a very frustrating path. With three spirited children, it hasn't been easy, but I so appreciate Dr. and Mrs. Sears' willingness to be a different sort of voice in the crowd of American parenting advice, to share their mistakes and successes and lessons with us, and to give us parents permission to listen to our children, follow our hearts, and find our balance.
Thank you, Bill and Martha Sears, for your service to the Lord and to His people, especially to the "least of these!"
