Obama's true colors: on Pennsylvania

Obama - who claims he wants to unite America - speaks one way to Pennsylvanians and another way about them.

Wonder what the working class people who showed up on his recent Keystone State "Road to Change" bus tour would think of this - his follow-up analysis of them when appealing to a wealthy San Francisco audience last Sunday:

You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them...And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not.

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

So people who cling to religion or who enjoy hunting are bitter? Or more accurately - the way Obama phrased it - they are bitter and so they turn to religion and/or guns. And those who have different opinions about immigration or trade are just frustrated - meaning I suppose that their positions are simply invalid.

Liberal elitism at its best: Visit flyover country and play up to the rubes there by faking "common ground" - then return to your comfort zone with the rich and famous to "tut-tut" at those stupid people who showed up for you last week.

Last week it was not wanting his daughter to be punished with a baby. This week it's all about what pathetic slobs the working class are.

Love,

Hello from semi-rural PA! I'll just share with you what my husband said when I read this to him: "I'll take guns and religion over government any day." Amen, brother!

Our jobs may have been gone for 25 years, but thank God our faith isn't!

I'm certainly no Obama fan, but this quote from Hillary Clinton in response is just too much:

"I was raised with Midwestern values and an unshakable faith in America and its policies," she said. "Now, Americans who believe in the Second Amendment believe it's a matter of constitutional right. Americans who believe in God believe it's a matter of personal faith.

"I grew up in a church-going family, a family that believed in the importance of living out and expressing our faith. The people of faith I know don't 'cling' to religion because they're bitter. People embrace faith not because they are materially poor, but because they are spiritually rich.

I don't appreciate a condescending attitude from Obama, but I'll take elitist comments over pandering to those who are religious any day. Of course it isn't just Clinton that does this. It is crazy to me that someone who has been in government (and living in governor's mansions, the white house, and mansions of her own) has a "working class base" as if she is "one of them".

What Obama and Clinton are saying are ridiculous. They both have comtempt for the constitution, even though they have sworn to uphold and protect it. The first amendment guarantees freedom of religion and the second amendment guarantees the right to bear arms. It is essentially promising that the Federal government will not interfere in either of these issues. Yet it does.
To Obama: Why shouldn't they cling to guns and religion, they are constitutional rights?
To Hillary: It doesn't take a belief in the First or Second Amendment, they explicitly, enumerated in the constitution, the highest law of the land!!

I recommend reading "The Law" by Fredric Bastiat. It about how socialists have contempt for "the people". They think "The People" can't handle liberty, and left to their devices will self-destruct. These legistators believe they are elite and need to lay plans out for us.
