Speaking of aprons . . . .

Never know what will come up when you post. A few days ago I mentioned National Wear Your Apron Day - May 12 - which inspired my dear friend Nilda (LadyLovas) sent me this. I hope it makes you smile too:

Hi there!

I’ve been meaning to send you theses pictures I took of my grandma in my last visit to México.

I was at her house and she was serving my food; she is 85 years old (she just turned 86 two weeks ago) and she’s still hard at work in the kitchen; she loves to cook for whom ever shows up and loves to see us enjoying her food. My fondest memories of her always include an apron. She ALWAYS wore one in the kitchen.

She is now older, wiser, shorter, smaller, softer, wrinkly-er, but as sweet as always…..and even more than ever.

Oh I lover so…..and miss her dearly. Unfortunately, she has a really hard time hearing me when I call her, so now I even miss talking to her over the phone.

Isn’t she sweet??

Anyway, I just wanted to share this very-late-for-the-contest photo with you.

Love ya!
Nilda

P.S. The message in her apron says “Serving with love” in Spanish

This makes me nostalgic too - am I too old to be adopted?

Love,
