Compassion International - looking for blog support team
Have any of you adopted children through Compassion International? Our family did this for years when the kids were little and we were homeschooling. My oldest daughter Samantha has allowed her children to each adopt a child and they learn a lot about each country as well as supporting a child in need.
What I really like about Compassion International is that it offers a much more meaningful way to teach your children about generosity and mercy. Instead of the abstract act of sending money in an envelope, your child sees another child in need, reads about their life, and can correspond. You know how important it is to incorporate the concrete into our children's learning.
Anyway, I was so excited about this opportunity Compassion has opened to visit the Dominican Republic and raise awareness, I applied and am being considered.
It's not too late to apply, so you can certainly do it too. But if for some reason you can't go, I'm trying to put together a group of bloggers willing to carry my feed through the course of the trip. I will be writing the stories of people I meet and taking pictures so you all can learn along with me.
If you are a blogger and would like to be part of my broadcast team back home, please let me know - in the comments or by email.
I'm excited about this opportunity - which is still not a done deal, but an opportunity. But I would be more excited if I knew that I had a group at home who would help me spread the word.

I just sponsored a child in the DI last month. And my husband and I are considering a CI trip next year or later.
I would love to help in anyway you need...my current blog is listed above...but, I will be mixing that up soon!

It is the desire of my heart to go on the DR trip as a blogger for Compassion as well. It is in God's hands. I would honor and respect anyone's comments, opinions, advice, etc. regarding my "Jesus and Compassion" blog.
