	Up, Up, Up I Go - a growth chart by Eric Carle We've kept a growth chart for years - it is so much fun for the kids to see how tall they've grown. I wish we had had this one because it's taller than most - over six feet fo mom and dad and taller teens can still be part of the family growth chronology. Great idea for a baby present too!

	The Cheerios Play Book This is such a cute book - and a fabulous way to encourage even the youngest child to develop pincer grasp and hand control - which both lead to better writing skills later on. The pages have recessed circles where the child can oh-so-carefully place Cheerios one by one. This is the first in a series of Cheerios books. Check the used copies at Amazon for as little as one cent each.

	Babies With Down Syndrome: A New Parent's Guide This is the first gift someone gave me after Jonny was born 13 years ago, and I've been giving it on the birth of Down syndrome babies ever since. A great and comforting and realistic resource with lots of pictures of - guess what? - kids with Down syndrome plus growth and development charts and hope for the future.

	The Baby Book: Everything You Need to Know About Your Baby from Birth to Age Two There are a lot of experts out there, but how many of them are a pediatrician dad and an R.N. mom with eight children of their own - including one with Down syndrome just for a little more wisdom and perspective? I've spent time in The Sears' home - they are the real deal. And now with two sons following in their father's footsteps as pediatricians and contributors to this updated version of their parents' first book - Well, let's just say The Baby Book should be second only to diapers on a parent's Must-Have list. The Sears advocate attachment parenting - quite the opposite of parenting methods based on training children to cause parents as ittle inconvenience as possible. Great training in the walk of any Christian. As Rick Warren's first sentence in The Purpose-Driven Life reminds us 'It's not about you.' For a while at least, it's all about baby!

	Best Potty Seat Ever! With 12 kids over 31 years, I tried a lot of different potty seats before I finally got it right. Maybe you can profit by my mistakes and get the best one right from the start. 	Best Bib Ever! Baby Bjorn Since my oldest child was born 36 years ago, and my youngest is 5 (it's not as bad as you think - my last birth child is 12, but God wasn't finished building our family!), I've been through major changes in baby stuff. Things are so much easier today - and Baby Bjorn bibs are part of the picture. This is the newest improved model - available in red, yellow and cool green. The older model is still available and almost half as much, but this neck closure looks much more comfortable for baby.
