Celebrating Mommies
Best athletic shoe for walking/running moms asics.jpg When I decided to get serious about my exercise, I wanted to find the best shoe - within my budget - to protect my feet, ankles, knees and legs. I researched and decided to give these a try - Amazon's price was very good plus free shipping and no tax. I've had my shoes for six months and am AMAZED at what a difference it makes in my walking each day. Both my daughters have ordered them - they have different colors - and are very very happy with them too. If you've been putting off buying new shoes because it's so confusing, I hope this helps a little.

Audubon Bird Clock Great idea for Mother's Day gift! I've had my own bird clock for seven years. Every hour is represented by a different bird and on the hour, you can enjoy hearing that bird's song. A light sensor turns off the sound automatically in the dark. I keep mine in the laundry room, and I have a small version on my desk next to the computer. Enjoy!

The Fat Flush Fast Track Plan This is the diet that is working for me - lost 45 pounds the first three months - and blood pressure went from 180/130 to 130/75. I started with the Fast Track and have continued with the regular diet. Not for the faint of heart, but great results!

The Mommy Brain From Publishers' Weekly: "Ellison expertly demystifies the legend of "the mommy brain"—an assumption that pregnancy and parenting make women a little ditzy. By juxtaposing entertaining anecdotes from her own life and the lives of her friends with fascinating studies in neurobiology and psychology, Ellison substantiates her claim that motherhood is an "advantage in the lifelong task of becoming smart." Her argument's foundation is that learning changes the brain, and she makes a larger argument about the kind of intelligence motherhood fosters. Traits such as perception, efficiency, resiliency, motivation and emotional intelligence, she says, are present whether one's a good mom or "a CEO of a Fortune 500 company."

Full Quiver Not for the faint of heart! This book has changed many a marriage as couples have decided to trust God with their family size. Does this mean you'll have 12 kids? Not necessarily - trusting means learning to accept and rejoice in however many or few God gives you. But the orientation of this book - that children are blessings, as the Bible teaches - is unusual and refreshing.

Pink Lady's Toolkit pink toolkit.jpgOnce upon a time, my hubbie got "indoor" tool kit for me to handle little things that came up inside the house during the day. But what do you think happened? It wasn't long before most of the tools disappeared - "borrowed" by the menfolk. And so last Christmas I treated myself to this pink toolbox, which I keep in The Chapel of the Wash and Dry - er, my laundry room - for me and me only.

I Love Lucy
Watching I Love Lucy is kinda like a booster shot. Whatever goes wrong in your everyday life can take on a different perspective when you see what goes worng in hers and how the bottom line is always funny.

And your kids will love her antics too!

I've had mine for over a year - it fit me fine 70 pounds ago and fits me fine today. My friend Connie, at Smockity Frocks makes them. The perfect thing for your wish list, don't you think? It's made with oilcloth instead of cotton, which makes so much more sense, and the design makes any waistline appear slimmer.
